Deputy Catches Business Burglar
Sheriff John E. Zaruba announced today the arrest of a male suspect who was caught burglarizing a business in unincorporated Carol Stream.
Nicholas Prendergast (dob 12/04/86) of the 200 block of Ardmore Ave., in Villa Park, has been charged with one count of Burglary which is a Class 2 felony, one count Possession of Burglary Tools which is a Class 4 felony and one count of Possession of Cannabis which is a class B Misdemeanor.
At approximately 12:15am the Sheriff’s Office received a report of an alarm going off at the unincorporated Carol Stream business Thorne Electric located at 26w501 St. Charles Rd. Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene to check the business, where he located a cut fence and the suspect in the back lot. Prendergast was fleeing towards his vehicle when the Deputy took him into custody.
Prendergast is currently being held in the DuPage County Jail and will be in bond court this afternoon at 4:00pm.
