Sheriff Charges Lisle Man with Kingston Park Fire
Sheriff John Zaruba announced today the arrest of a Lisle man who was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Damage to Property for the fire that destroyed the playground equipment at Kingston Park in unincorporated Lisle.
Michael A. Bucher (dob/07/05/91) of the 5400 block of Burr Oak St., in Lisle was arrested and charged with 1 count of Criminal Damage to State Supported Property which is a class 2 felony and 1 count of Criminal Damage to Property by Fire/Explosives which is a class 3 felony.
At approximately 4:48 A.M. on August 13, 2013, the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fire located at Kingston Park in unincorporated Lisle. The Lisle Woodridge Fire Protection District responded to the area, suppressed the fire of the playground equipment and the fire was classified as “undetermined” and “suspicious.” The investigation was turned over to Sheriff’s Detectives who conducted a thorough investigation of the fire, which led to the arrest of Bucher.
Bucher is currently in the DuPage County Jail and is being held on $ 35,000 bond.
