Sheriff’s Forensic Scientist Earns Prestigious Certification
DuPage County Sheriff John E. Zaruba announced today that Forensic Scientist Timothy Campbell has completed training to become a certified Latent Print Examiner in the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Science Center.
In March, Scientist Campbell was awarded Latent Print Certification through the International Association for Identification (IAI). In addition to successfully completing a three part, eight hour examination, Mr. Campbell demonstrated that his training, experience and past testimony met the requirements for Certification. With only a 64% pass rate, Latent Print Certification through the IAI is a prestigious achievement. Mr. Campbell is now one of 47 examiners in Illinois and one of 941 internationally to hold this certification. The certification program calls for recertification every five years at which time Mr. Campbell will take addition tests and demonstrate continued casework and training experience.
