Sheriff’s Office to Participate in the 31st Anniversary of National Night Out
Members of Sheriff John Zaruba’s Office will celebrate 31st Annual National Night Out this Tuesday, August 5th.
Sheriff’s deputies will be out at the Oakbrook Terrace Park District at Heritage Park 1S325 Ardmore Ave. Oakbrook Terrace. The event will be starting at 6:00 pm with a Touch a Truck event with local Police and Fire Departments. They will also have music and will be showing a movie in the park starting at 8:45pm.
Deputies will be also attending several other neighborhood events in Hinsdale, Naperville, West Chicago, Warrenville, Itasca, Villa Park and Illinois Benedictine College and visit with its residents along the way to encourage their involvement in crime prevention initiatives.
“One of the main goals of National Night Out is to increase community awareness about the Sheriff’s Office programs such as Heroin Prevention/Education, the First Step Program, Senior Services and other anti-crime efforts, Sheriff Zaruba said. “We utilize this as another opportunity for interaction between the residents we serve and law enforcement,” Sheriff Zaruba continued.
Residents of DuPage County are invited to join with over 16,000 communities nationwide for National Night Out, from all 50 states, with over 37.8 million people nationwide participating in this event.
