Sheriff Zaruba awarded Community Leadership Award

DuPage County Sheriff John Zaruba will be a recipient of the 2014 Community Leadership Award by Stop Overdose Illinois. The award will be given to the DuPage Coalition Against Heroin of which Sheriff Zaruba is a founding member. The presentation of this award will be on August 30th at Stop Overdose Illinois Awareness Gathering and Vigil in Elk Grove Village.

This award honors exemplary work performed by a community leader in effort to provide solutions to the overdose crisis through community unification, prevention and education, government engagement, and/or program development.

“I am honored to be a recipient of the Community Leadership Award by the Stop Overdose Illinois,” Sheriff Zaruba said. “Every day in the community my agency has an ongoing multifaceted commitment to approach Heroin in DuPage County through interdiction, education and enforcement.  I will continue to fight to raise awareness and to stop Heroin abuse in our community,” he continued.
