Clean Up on Aisle 2 for Local 7-11
DuPage County Sheriff John Zaruba announced today the arrest of a Lombard man who drove through a local 7-11 store.
Junior A. Espinal, 32, of the 800 block of Foxworth Blvd., Lombard, is facing multiple charges after driving his vehicle into the front of the 7-11 located at Butterfield Rd. & Lloyd in unincorporated Lombard this morning.
The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office received calls at approximately9:00 a.m. for a vehicle that had crashed through the front glass window of the store. When deputies arrived, they found the 2004 Acura in the middle of the convenient store running. The clerk reported that a male subject drove through the front of the store, left the vehicle running and fled the store on foot.
Sheriff’s deputies started checking the area and located a man fitting the description of the suspect that fled the vehicle. Deputies spoke to Espinal, who said he was pulling in to purchase a gallon of milk, when the brake pedal stuck on his vehicle while he was pulling up to the front of the store.
“Thankfully no one was injured during this incident,” said Sheriff Zaruba who was at the scene.
Further investigation showed that Espinal did not have a valid driver’s license and is also being charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Failure to Give Information to the Owner of the Property.
Espinal was transported to the DuPage County Jail.
The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office reminds readers that any charges indicated in this document are merely accusations, and the listed defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
