DuPage County Sheriff John Zaruba announced today the release of a new smartphone app which will allow the residents to keep informed of real time activities of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office at the push of an app, for those who are on-the-go or those that want to be in-the-know.
A collaborative environment is critical in public safety as someone in the community, a citizen or public safety official, will often be the first to alert others of a variety of news and alerts that impact the safety of their neighborhood such as break-ins, suspicious vehicles and activities, a downed power line, arrests, most wanted, sex offenders and missing children. Many times, this important information is getting lost on social media sites.
Users of the app will have access to real time inmate information, mugshots, charges and offender information. The app also includes most wanted criminals, registered sex offender listing, news, facility location, office directory and more.
“Every day citizens use their smartphones to search for information and I want to make sure that we are using the latest communication technology to keep the public informed of what is occurring in DuPage County,” Sheriff Zaruba said. “This new app will allow us to get important information right to resident’s fingertips. The app greatly improves our ability to serve the public and we are excited we can provide this to the community,” he continued.
Users of the app will have access to the following features:
Access to the DuPage County Jail Inmate booking system which provides information to the public about an inmate’s charges and bond amounts.
